My two years at OPU have taught me not only knowledge but also how to live. When I came to OPU, I had never thought that the students here would study so hard. But on campus, even at midnight, the lights in the reading rooms and laboratories are always on. Many students go to school even on weekends. Compared to the learning environment in China, at OPU, graduate school students are required to attend weekly seminars. Students work individually or in groups to set research themes, conduct research projects and analyses, and make presentations and reports. I think this environment is very beneficial for me because it has enabled me to think by myself. I also never thought that the learning environment at OPU would be so student-friendly. At the library, students can print materials free of charge. You can copy for free by receiving your individual card and putting it in the copier. The limit is 500, and the card can be renewed annually. For college students, it is very convenient to use a copier to print materials. When I enrolled, the university held an orientation session for international students, where they introduced the staff and academic focus of each department. I learned about the university a lot and I could feel myself close to OPU. Also, I felt like I was right at home. If you visit the Graduate School support office, the staff will help you with your studies and university life. Not only that, but the university’s student affairs division can help you find a part-time job and financial aid. Anyway, many of my pre-enrollment concerns and concerns had gone. Even if you feel anxious at a new place at first, I promise you that you can focus on your studies here at OPU. Japan has the longest life expectancy in the world. Japan has a well-developed long-term care system, as well as universal health insurance and a great medical system. Currently, I belong to the Graduate School of Economics at OPU, and I would like to acquire deeper knowledge in the field of health economics in the doctoral course. With the results of my research work, I would like to contribute to the development of the medical and long-term-care system in China.
